Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") forms part of the Terms of Use and applies to everyone who accesses or uses the Jsonify platform, products, APIs, and related services (the "Services"), operated by Trailing Comma, Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as Jsonify. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms. If your written agreement with Jsonify contains stricter restrictions, that agreement controls.

1. The Principle

Use the Services only to collect and process data you are entitled to access, in ways that respect applicable law, the sources you collect from, and the people the data may describe. You are responsible for the sources you select, the instructions you give, and the use you make of the results.

2. Respect Source Protections

You may not use the Services, or combine them with other tools, to:

  • Collect content that a source makes available only after signing in, subscribing, or paying; authenticated access is available only under an enterprise agreement, as described in the Terms;
  • Collect from a website path that its robots.txt disallowed when the source was added, or work around Jsonify's enforcement of that;
  • Continue collecting from a source after Jsonify has removed it, or after the source's operator has told you to stop;
  • Impose unreasonable load on a source, or interfere with or disrupt its normal operation;
  • Misrepresent who you are to a source, or submit information to a source, except through products governed by an enterprise agreement (see Section 5);
  • Use credentials you do not legitimately hold, exceed the permissions of an account you do hold, or continue accessing a service after it has suspended or terminated your access.

3. Personal Data

You may not use the Services to:

  • Collect personal data without a valid legal basis under applicable data protection laws;
  • Collect special categories of personal data (such as health, biometric, sexual orientation, religious, or political information) unless strictly lawful;
  • Track, profile, locate, or monitor identified individuals, or build datasets designed to do so;
  • Collect personal data relating to children;
  • Re-identify individuals from pseudonymised data, or work around anonymisation or filtering configured in a pipeline;
  • Re-add data that Jsonify has excluded following a removal request.

Where your collection scope includes anonymisation or filtering of personal data, you must not disable or work around those safeguards.

4. Prohibited Purposes

You may not use the Services for:

  • Any unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent purpose;
  • Infringing intellectual property rights, database rights, or trade secrets;
  • Unfair or anti-competitive practices prohibited by applicable law;
  • Sending spam or unsolicited communications to contact details you have collected;
  • Building datasets intended to harass, intimidate, discriminate against, or otherwise harm individuals or groups;
  • Making decisions about an individual's eligibility for credit, employment, housing or tenancy, or insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or equivalent laws; the Services are not a consumer reporting agency and datasets may not be used as consumer reports;
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or providing the Services themselves to third parties, except under an agreement with Jsonify that permits it. Using datasets in your own products and services is permitted, subject to the rest of this AUP and to third-party rights.

5. Simulated Journeys

Products that complete forms to obtain quotes or offers (such as Benchmark) run only within a collection scope agreed with Jsonify, using the personas, sources, and volumes defined in your agreement. Personas are synthetic: they must never use a real person’s identity, documents, or account details, such as a name, licence plate, or policy number. Simulated journeys must not be used to enter into binding contracts, complete purchases, or defraud the source.

6. Platform Integrity

You may not:

  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services without Jsonify's prior written permission;
  • Interfere with the Services or degrade other customers' use of them;
  • Introduce malware or other harmful code into the Services;
  • Attempt to obtain pipeline or extractor source code, or build a competing service using the Services;
  • Create additional accounts to obtain further free allowances, or to evade enforcement of this AUP, including after suspension or termination.

7. Reporting and Enforcement

To report a suspected violation of this AUP, contact paul@jsonify.com. If you operate a website or app and want to raise collection from it, see For website and app owners.

Jsonify may investigate suspected violations and may throttle, suspend, or terminate access as described in the Terms of Use. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice before suspension. We may notify authorities where required by law.

8. Changes to This Policy

Jsonify may update this AUP from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date, and material changes are notified in the same way as changes to the Terms.

Connect your data assistant

Build datasets and work with your data in ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or another assistant.

Every client needs the same two things: the server URL, and a sign-in with your Jsonify account. There is no API key; your assistant opens the sign-in when you connect, and you can revoke it any time from Integrations → Assistant connections.

Connect in ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode.
  2. Open Plugins and select + to create a connection. Name it Jsonify, add a short description, and paste the URL below.
  3. Use OAuth for authentication and select Create. A Jsonify sign-in window opens; sign in or create an account, then allow the connection.
  4. Start a new chat and select Jsonify from + → More, then describe your dataset.

If Developer mode is unavailable, your plan or workspace settings may restrict custom connections.
